Detailed Services: The proceeds generated through arc Thrift Stores are distributed to the Association for Retarded Citizens (Arc) and the Association for Community Living (ACL). We are owned, operated and governed by a board of directors comprised of Arc members, and business members from the community. Founded in 1963, under the name of "Value Village Thrift Store", our first store opened on South Broadway in Denver Colorado. The original store was established as a cooperative fund-raising project to benefit local Arc units by providing high quality, pre-owned apparel and home furnishings at a price that is 30% to 90% less than original retail. Over the past two decades, the demand for high quality, low cost merchandise has increased significantly.
