We've become our own sponsor by partnering with the E-Credit Card Directory!

Every Month we'll be donating 20% of every referral to a chosen earth friendly or animal related charity. November's group is: H.E.L.P. Animals, Inc.. Through donations they provide fire fighters with the necessary life saving equipment to save your pet in the event of a fire and smoke inhalation. Does your community fire department carry a Surgivet Animal Oxygen Masks to prevent loss of life? Thrifty Planet is honored to donate to this wonderful group.

As soon as the referrals start coming in, we'll report the amount right here!

8/16/07 WE WANT YOUR INPUT

While we're working in the background to add more services and more information to our site, we want to know what YOU, the Thrifty Planet surfer, wants out of this website. What can we do to make your experience better? [contact form]

Our current plans:

  • Expansion to include listings from countries outside of the US.
  • Faster database access
  • More thrift store listings!
  • Media added: video blogs, thrift store tours, and more
Is there anything else you want to see that we aren't already planning? PLEASE TELL US.

11/21/06

I want to introduce you to Voiceless: The Fund for Animals. They are a non-profit group out of Australia.

Recently, they spent a lot of time and effort, not to mention money creating several truth based advertisements set to appear in eight magazines.

The pork industry, afraid you'll actually read them and contemplate the food on your plate, silently forced (unproven at this point but let's all remember Oprah and Howard Lyman, shall we?) these eight magazines to drop the advertisements that Voiceless had created.

Well, Thrifty Planet doesn't give a hoot about the Pork Producers of the world. We care about the Pigs. How can reality and truth be wrong?

So here are the advertisements in their full glory. They will remain on Thrifty Planet indefinitely. They are no more graphic than any other meat centric advertisement in magazines today.

The following magazines are among those who refused to run the ads: Marie Claire, Delicious and Good Weekend. (A big thumbs down for all three of you!)
